ABOUT BIKE MS (formerly MS 150 Bike Tours)
Bike MS is the largest organized cycling event in the U.S. with more than 100,000 cyclists participating in over 100 rides across the country. The rides take place from April to November each year to raise funds to help people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) which is a chronic disease of the central nervous system that affects the brain and spinal cord. Bike MS is the biggest fundraising event for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the world’s foremost organization in MS research, patient services, professional education programs, and advocacy efforts. Visit the Bike MS home page to find details on any MS bike event in the U.S.
ABOUT THE NMSS LONE STAR CHAPTER
The Lone Star Chapter of the National MS Society is the largest such chapter in the U.S. in terms of geography, population, and financing. It serves 174 counties in Texas and thousands of people with MS, their families and friends, the professionals who serve them, and the general public. Currently, $5.3 million is being spent on MS research at medical facilities throughout the chapter. Each year the chapter sponsors three Bike MS rides throughout Texas with a combined total of over 20,000 cyclists raising millions of dollars for MS research and support. That’s one rider for every MS patient in the state. The chapter is proud to host the biggest Bike MS ride in the country, the BP Houston to Austin, with 14,000 cyclists raising over $5 million for MS research and treatment. Visit the Lone Star Chapter website for more information on the Texas Bike MS rides.

FUNDRAISING
Every MS 150 rider must meet the minimum fundraising amount listed on the bike ride website. This barely covers the per rider cost incurred by the National MS Society to put on the ride so you are encouraged to exceed this minimum pledge. If it seems like a lot of money to you, don't worry. You will be surprised how easy it is and how willing most people are to contribute -- all you have to do is ask!
To make this task as easy as possible for you, CitiSlickers has pulled together some additional resources for you. Check out the fundraising link on the team website and also the MS 150 website for more information about fundraising.
Online. You can use the National MS Society website to fundraise online. By creating an E-Donate Link, you can send your donors a link to your personal donation page where they can make a credit card donation on your behalf! You will receive an e-mail notification each time someone makes a donation and you can also obtain an online summary of your donations. To post your E-Donate link on the team website, just forward the confirmation e-mail to our Webmaster.
Mail. Checks may be mailed to: Sam’s Club MS 150, National MS Society, P.O. Box 4585, Houston, Texas 77210-4585. Remember to tell your donors to write your name in the memo line on all checks so you will receive proper fundraising credit. Do not send cash through the mail.
Pledge Sheet. Use the MS 150 Pledge Sheet provided by the National MS Society to keep
track of your pledges and as reminder to thank your sponsors after the ride!
